WHO WE ARERenversé Ballet (RB) was created in June 2020 as a virtual ballet community to support and inspire diversity in the classical ballet industry. We want more dancers to tell more stories, more often.
We prioritize diversity because it drives innovation, exploration, and storytelling. We offer live instruction and international performance collaborations. What Follows, original music by Kristopher Estes-Brown

MISSION + VISION
Renversé Ballet is committed to creating a more diverse, informed, inquisitive, and inclusive classical ballet community.
We set out to achieve this by offering:
We believe in a ballet which elevates and empowers audiences and artists alike for authentically reflecting the depth and breadth of human experience. Ballet's golden age will unfold when ballet resonates with modern sensibilities and diversity.
Ballet owes, to itself and the world, this progress.
We set out to achieve this by offering:
- A virtual platform and forum to foster greater access,
- Live classes and intensives led by international guest artists,
- Original educational content exploring systemic issues, and
- Collaborative performance opportunities for our global community.

VALUES
Our values include access, diversity, inclusion, and representation because:
- Access provides equal passage, resources, and opportunities,
- Diversity recognizes that individuals are unique and offer unique stories and strengths,
- Inclusion creates safe spaces, instills a sense of belonging, and inspires innovation, and
- Representation provides equal opportunities to contribute to discourse and influence decisions.
Ballet wields cultural influence and moral impact on audiences, patrons, citizens, and society. We, as an industry, have a duty and civic responsibility to stand for what is right. We value teachable wisdom gained through a diversity of individual experiences, and we select and commission artists based on their ability to create environments which exemplify excellence and inclusivity.
When we love something, we want to share it, uplift it, and help confront its fears and problems. In our exquisite, bizarre, beautiful, and absurd artform, it can be difficult to discuss our hegemonic structures, traumas, political dynamics, and socio-economic barriers to entry. We value communication and discourse, listening, learning, unlearning, and relearning.
We love ballet down to our bones, but we believe ballet can be better.
